Danish captain and four-time Bundesliga winner Pernille Harder has made the move from Wolfsburg to Chelsea – breaking records in the process.

In her time with the German champions, Harder was part of the team that won four back-to-back domestic doubles, finishing the 2019/20 league season undefeated. The forward finished top goalscorer on two occasions, with her 27-goal haul last season the highest in the division since 2010.
With Wolfsburg she won everything. Everything that is … except the Champions League. The defeat to Lyon in her final game meant another missed attempt at European glory.
London-bound
Chelsea were keen to get hold of Harder’s talents – opting to pay a transfer fee rather than wait for her contract to expire in 2021. The fee itself, reportedly in excess of 2.1 million kroner, is a new record for the women’s game.
For this amount of cash, Chelsea will be hoping that Harder will be a game-changer, and her track-record – 105 goals in 114 games at Wolfsburg – gives them no reason to doubt it.
The star agreed to a three-year contract with the London club and is available to start as early as Sunday – Chelsea face Manchester United in the first game of the Super League, as they look to defend their title.
