Denmark faces immense downpour as Storm Alex closes in

Copenhagen looks to be spared, but other areas could see up to 25mm of rain

Parts of Denmark could experience large amounts of rain tonight, with Storm Alex set to make a midnight appearance.

Already pummeling much of Europe with immense downpours and flooding, Alex is set to hit Denmark from the south tonight and spread north during early hours of Sunday.

According to TV2 News, parts of Denmark could experience upwards of 25mm of rain.

Copenhagen spared?
The weather front is expected to reach south-Jutland around midnight, before continuing on north during Saturday night.

The rain is set to continue on Sunday morning in north-Jutland, much of Zealand and Bornholm, although it doesn’t look to be overly formidable in the Copenhagen area, according to DMI forecasts.

The rain is expected to be significantly reduced nationwide by midday on Sunday.

Before the rain hits, a warm front from southern Europe is predicted to send some warmer temperatures up to Denmark on Saturday evening.
