Freelance journalist Jeppe Nybroe was kidnapped a month ago in Lebanon and released yesterday, according to Jyllands-Posten newspaper.
The former news anchor for national news provider DR was kidnapped along with a Lebanese colleague sometime around February 8 in the Lebanese border town of Arsal. He was then held hostage at a location in Syria.
According to reports, Nybroe was held captive in a house while negotiations over his release persisted.

A specialist on the Middle East
The 40-year-old newsman has worked as a journalist in the Middle East in recent years and was hired as the head of the Mogolian TV station Mongol TV.
Before then he worked as a news editor with the Libyan TV station Alhurra TV. During that time he was attacked at a hotel in Benghazi while covering the national elections following the demise of Libya’s dictator, Muammar Gaddafi.
In Denmark he has worked for DR, BT Newspaper and TV2.
Neither the Danish Foreign Ministry nor the Danish embassy in Lebanon have made a comment.
