FCK hold on despite Santander sending off

FC Copenhagen and Brøndby battled it out in an intense, but goalless draw in the New Firm Copenhagen derby at Brøndby Stadium tonight.

FCK looked the better team until striker Frederico Santander tackled his way to two yellow cards in as many minutes with still over half an hour left to play.

After that it was all Brøndby, but despite 11 minutes of added time due to delays prompted by smoke produced by fireworks in the crowd, Danie Agger and company couldn’t find a way past FCK’s defence.

Agger admitted after the final whistle that his team created far too few chances after going a man up.

Lions still lead
The draw leaves FC Copenhagen top of the league on 31 points, one point ahead of reigning champions FC Midtjylland and six points ahead of Aalborg and Brøndby.
