Like father, like son. Albert Hammond is a hit songwriter who’s worked with the likes of Whitney Houston and Tina Turner.

His son Albert Jr is the frontman of The Strokes and is playing a solo show in Copenhagen following the summer release of his latest album, Momentary Masters.

Hammond’s latest music doesn’t so much tread indie’s rock-electro divide as jump between it. Slinky synths and jerky rhythms provide the electro, whilst distorted, staccato guitars and a vocal delivery similar to The Clash and The Jam characterise the rock side to the latest album. (JM)
