The Waldorf International School of Copenhagen (WISC) is a not-for-profit international school with a distinct educational vision. WISC is the international department of Byens Steinerskole, which is a Waldorf school established in 2019. It is recognised by and subject to Danish law and receives a subsidy from the Danish state.
At a Waldorf school, each child is daily challenged on an intellectual, creative, artistic and social level – head, heart and hands. We, therefore, offer a wide range of subjects, which each child can follow at their own individual level.
As the second International Waldorf School in Europe and the only one in Denmark, we are a new phenomenon. We offer International Primary Curriculum (IPC) combined with the Waldorf curriculum, enabling children to move within the international school system throughout the world.
In our first year (2019-2020), we accept children ages six through eight for two classes; kindergarten class and a combined first and second class. In our second year (2020-2021) we will expand our school, accepting children up to 9-years-old.
While we plan to grow steadily over the following years, we will also offer nursery and kindergarten as well as secondary education.
