On this day in 1914, the Danish actress Osa Massen was born in Copenhagen.

She began her career as a newspaper photographer, but soon moved into the movie industry to become a popular sex symbol.

After only doing two movies in Denmark, she left for the US in 1937, shortly before marrying her first of three American husbands, to work with 20th Century Fox on many films – most notably ‘You’ll Never Get Rich’ (1941) and ‘A Woman’s Face’ (1941).
