Ny Lyd, the Danish new music firm, welcomes Tashweesh, a Palestinian audio-visual group, back to Copenhagen for a pair of shows.  Boikutt, the vocalist and rapper of the group, performed as part of the indoor street party ‘Streets From Around’ at the Danish Film Institute on 18 August. Eyes trained down on his microphone like a rifle scope, white knuckles holding his sonic weapon like the steering wheel of a runaway car bomb, Boikutt hijacked the small audience’s attention for a short set.  One wondered: where else in Europe, or the world for that matter could a middle-eastern man utter, no shout: ‘Jihad!’ in front of a crowd of cheering white people?  This performance was without argument exceptional.
