Dansk Supermarked – which operates retail stores such as Føtex, Bilka, Netto, and Salling – has announced it will lay off 150 employees due to organisational restructuring.

However, in an official statement, it said that as many people as possible will be offered another job.

Cost-effective business
Dansk Supermarked is currently undergoing structural changes in a bid to become the most competitive retailer in the country.

An integral part of the company's strategy is a strong focus on doing business in the most cost-effective way.

Dansk Supermarked is Denmark's largest retailer, with a 34.9 percent market share in the supermarket sector. It employs about 45,000 employees in five countries, of which 35,000 work in Denmark.
