Anyone who has ever been to a celebration of Luxembourg’s national day at the residence of the ambassador Gerard Philipps knows the party doesn’t get properly started until Philipps himself takes to the stage to play his guitar.

And sure enough, after an afternoon of fine weather, drinks and barbecued food, Philipps and his band performed a memorable jazz concert. Pictured centre with Philipps are his wife and Chinese ambassador Liu Biwei, while on the next photo, Canadian ambassador André Giroux is catching up with Israeli ambassador Barukh Binah.

Vivienne McKee has just finished another short run of ‘Copenhagen’, the play about Niels Bohr. Here she is pictured with fellow cast members David Bateson (left) and Tony Wedgwood (right).

And in case you missed it – impossible to really – it has been that time of year again when the country’s gymnasium graduates take to the buses to celebrate the completion of their final exams.
