Besides green energy and giant pandas, more news has come from the government's China visit this week, and it's sizzling hot.

Denmark will be the first country in the world to sell hot dogs to China, the Food Ministry announced on Friday, thanks to the latest endeavours by food and agriculture minister, Dan Jørgensen – the government's very own Dr DoAnything.

Three producers were approved to deliver hot dogs and other kinds of heat-treated meat products to the world's second-largest economy.

"Denmark will now be the world's first nation to deliver hot dogs to Chinese dinner tables," said Jørgensen.

"It means we'll get 250 million kroner of exports and that we will secure jobs and growth in Denmark."

China’s pork rise
The growing Chinese middle classes have caused meat consumption to skyrocket. China is now the world's leading pork consumer by far and pork exports to China are the Danish food sector's second biggest export, exceeded only by exports to other EU countries.

Jørgensen and three other Danish ministers accompanied the queen on a five-day state visit to China this week to strengthen strategic and economic partnership.
