A 39-year-old officer from Syd og Sønderjyllands Politi was arrested in Esbjerg by his colleagues on August 22 last summer, charged with buying both amphetamines and cocaine.

A search of the man’s apartment turned up a small amount of amphetamines.

“The officer is scheduled for a hearing on March 3,” lead prosecutor Jacob Beyer told Ekstra Bladet.

Drugging with the source
The officers has been charged with three separate drug crimes, including using cocaine and amphetamines with his pusher on two separate occasions and buying cocaine for his own use on another occasion.

Police became aware of their colleagues' involvement while investigating drug cases near Esbjerg. Police were shocked to hear their colleague's name via wiretaps used in the course of the investigation.

“Nuances”
The officer’s lawyer, Morten Wosylus, said his client acknowledged that he was guilty “to some extent”, but that “nuances” would be cleared up during his trial.

“His life had been turned upside down,”he told Ekstra Bladet.
