Copenhagen plane was flying next to Ukraine plane crash
Flight tracker shows a plane leaving from Denmark flying close to MH17 when it crashed in Ukrainian airspace
A Singapore Airlines passenger plane flying from Copenhagen to Singapore was only 30km away when Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 was shot down in Ukraine on Thursday.
DR reports that the live flight tracker Flightradar24.com apparently shows that flight SQ351/SIA351 departed from Copenhagen Airport at 12.45pm after a 15-minute delay and arrived in Singapore 12 hours later.
Singapore Airlines would neither confirm nor deny that a plane from the airline was flying near flight MH17, but told DR that no Singapore Airlines planes will be flying over Ukraine airspace as long as the crisis is ongoing.
The crash killed all 298 people aboard the Boeing 777 and 41 passengers remain unidentified.
