The Copenhagen department store Illum has announced that a new Prada flagship store will open there in November. The store will be on three floors, with entrances from both the street and from inside Illum.
The ground floor will be dedicated to accessories, while the first and second floors will stock men’s and women’s fashions. It will be the first Prada store in Denmark.
Also in November, jeweller Bucherer will open on Illum’s ground floor. It will include luxury watches and jewellery, with such brands as premium Swiss watch brand Carl F Bucherer, Tag Heuer, Omega, Chopard, Pomellato, and local jewellers Georg Jensen and Ole Lynggaard..
The latest arrivals follow the revamping of Illum’s women’s department, which was completed last autumn.
The rebranding of Illum has been an ongoing project over the past several years. There is now a food atrium on the top floor, which includes seven restaurants, a coffee shop and a terrace. Bar Jacobsen, a modern beer bistro that opened this past week, is the latest restaurant to open on the roof.
Eataly will also open its first shop in Denmark this autumn, on Illum’s lower ground floor. The space will include five restaurants and a grocery.
