Copenhagen Airport has announced plans to capitalise on the increasing number of passengers who are taking advantage of cheaper plane tickets to travel outside the continent.

To accommodate all the future passengers, the airport will invest 250 million kroner to improve intercontinental travel services by expanding Finger C in Terminal 3 by an extra 2,900 sqm, the airport announced on Monday.

Bright waiting hall
"We expect more growth in the coming years, so we have to build now," said Christian Poulsen, the technical director and CEO at Copenhagen Airport.

"The new part of Finger C will be a nice, bright and relaxing place for passengers to hang out while they are waiting to board their flight for the long journey."

For the next one and a half years, more than a hundred workers and engineers will work on the expansion.
