Crown Prince Frederik was among the Danish delegation today at the ceremony to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. He was joined by the speaker of Parliament, Mogens Lykketoft, and the culture minister, Marianne Jelved.
The ceremony took place in front of the notorious Death Gate at Auschwitz-Birkenau. Some 300 survivors of the concentration camp were in attendance along with political leaders and members of several European royal families.
The memorial service took place between 3.30 and 5pm and was shown on TV2 News.
