The second day of the Distortion street party went off without a hitch yesterday, according to police in Copenhagen.

They estimated that some 125,000 people took to the streets of the Vesterbro district as part of the five-day festival that features an outdoor party in a different part of the city each day.

As with Wednesday's party in the Nørrebro district, festival organisers' efforts to improve clean up efforts were noticeable, as more sanitation workers were on the street. By 8am the streets had been fully cleaned.

Seven arrests were made during the festivities, most were minor infractions and pickpocketing, but one person was arrested for being in possession of a hunting rifle, the police said.

Friday’s party will take place at Refshaleøen north of Christianshavn.

Those interested can follow the happenings through the eyes of the police department, which will be Tweeting with safety and information announcements from 6pm to 6am.
