Danish actor Casper Phillipson will portray the former US president John F Kennedy in ‘Jackie’, a new American drama that focuses on the life of the first lady after the assassination of her husband.

The biographical movie will star Oscar-winner Natalie Portman in the lead role of Jacqueline Kennedy and Peter Sarsgaard as JFK’s brother Robert.

Phillipson, who began his acting career in 1995 at Aarhus Teater, is mostly known in Denmark for stage roles and bit parts in films such as ‘Flammen & Citronen‘.

‘Jackie’ is expected to hit cinemas in 2017. Just last month, scenes from JFK’s funeral procession were filmed in Washington DC.

Last year, Danish screenwriting duo Nikolaj Arcel and Rasmus Heisterberg were hired to write the screenplay for ‘RFK’, another major film about the Kennedy clan that focuses on Robert F Kennedy.
