The Danish company RushFiles is poised to take up the fight against Dropbox, Google and Amazon Cloud Drive to become a dominant force on the file-sharing market.

RushFiles recently secured a capital contribution of 19 million kroner from the venture fund Insero and the growth fund Vækstfonden and ambitions are high, according to its head, Morten Klank. “Europe is our primary focus,” Klank told Business.dk.

“It’s our local market and we have hired a sales employee in Munich. Germany is a massive market in itself, but that doesn’t mean that it is our only focus area. We’re looking at the whole of Europe,” he continued.

Management and control
The new service separates itself from the existing file-sharing solutions by companies themselves gaining ownership of the servers wherein the data lies, as opposed to Dropbox, for instance, where employees can share files without management and control.

"We have proved the value of the product and we have built up a good customer portfolio and feel a growing interest from abroad. We already have customers in nine countries – and more new agreements are in the pipeline. Therefore, the 19 million kroner the investors have contributed will speed up sales internationally," Klank said in a press release.

RushFiles currently employs ten people and, besides Munich, the company has offices in Copenhagen and Aarhus.
