A majority in the Danish Parliament has today voted in favour of the new, controversial agriculture package that has caused a lot of problems for the Venstre government.

Despite criticism and distrust of the environment and food minister, Eva Kjer Hansen, the Konservative party voted for the package along with the rest of the blue bloc.

Misrepresenting the facts
Søren Pape Poulsen, the head of Konservative, has accused Hansen of giving the public false information.

“We can conclude the minister has not given a true image of the consequences of the package,” he said.

“The minister has not lived up to her responsibility, and despite us letting her know several times, the minister has failed to correct it. Therefore, we no longer have any confidence in the minister.”

Yesterday, the prime minister, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, fully backed the environment minister and called for a crisis meeting with Konservative, Dansk Folkeparti and Liberal Alliance.
