A 19-year-old man from Aarhus is being prosecuted under the terrorism clause of the Danish Criminal Code after threatening on Facebook to kill apostate Muslims and “infidels”.

According to the Attorney General Jan Reckendorff from the public prosecutor’s office in Viborg, the man shared videos on Facebook of the executions of people who had been captured and allegedly murdered by the terrorist group Islamic State (IS). In comments attached to the videos, the 19-year-old threatened to kill fallen Muslims and “infidels”.

“Heads will roll”
Threatening remarks posted in both English and Arabic said things like: “The knife will strike you all and your heads will roll on every road. You cannot hide … We will punish you with the knife…”

Reckendorff said the case against the teenager was a special one.

“It is a rare case for the prosecution to charge one person with threatening terrorism,” Reckendorff told DR Nyheder. “The prosecutors said that the grave threats on Facebook were made with the intent to seriously intimidate the public.”
