On this day 450 years ago, the famous boarding school Herlufsholm was founded by legendary Danish admiral Herluf Trølle in Næstved.

Formerly a monastery, Herlufsholm was initially created as a school for the children of noblemen and the well-to-do – an elite status that it maintains to this very day.
