Despite the inconsistent summer weather, half of the campsites tracked by the Danish Camping Union are sold out.
Gitte Kragholm Larsen runs Vorbasse camping with her husband.
“It looks good and we are satisfied,” Larsen told DR Nyheder. “Although spring was a little quiet do to the bad weather, the summer holidays have been good and we have had a full house for the second consecutive week.”
Larsen said that this year has yet to live up to last year’s banner numbers.
“You can not really compare anything to last year, because we had the fantastic weather all summer,” said Larsen. “I think things will pick up during the latter part of the season.”
No bad weather…
All the same, campers are showing up with summer clothes and rainwear, just to be on the safe side.
“For many families, it’s all about being together, and the children don’t mind if it rains. They just find some playmates and we have activities that keep them busy all day.”
