FC Midtjylland pulled off one of the biggest upsets in Danish football history by beating Manchester United 2-1 at home in Herning in the Europa League last night.

United went ahead via Memphis Depay after 37 minutes before Pione Sisto equalised just before halftime with a superb solo effort. Paul Onuachu then got the winner on 77 minutes with a low drive from outside the box.

Need to score
FCM coach Jess Thorup praised his side after the surprise victory, but maintained that nothing had been won yet.

“We got a good result and can look ahead to the replay next week,” Thorup told Bold.dk

“It will be a different game and a tougher game at Old Trafford. We know that. We’ll probably need to score at least once to have a chance.”

The replay will take place at 21:05 on Thursday February 25.
