A new burger restaurant, which is opening today in central Copenhagen, is giving away free burgers to celebrate.

Between 4 and 6 pm, YOBurger at Nørregade 2 will serve two complimentary burgers: a classic and a vegetarian option.

Customers can choose between the classic YOBurger – 100 grams of beef that normally costs 69 kroner – or the YOVeggie (priced at 74 kroner), which has a portobello mushroom instead of beef and two kinds of cheese.

The restaurant is run by a trio of seasoned chefs – Patrick Bachmann, Lasse Meyer and Simon Vestford – who proof-tested their burgers at a food market in the meatpacking district of Vesterbro last summer and got loads of culinary inspiration while traveling in Europe and the US.

“We believe we’ve got something Copenhagen is missing,” Meyer told Ekstra Bladet.

YOBurger is located right next to Copenhagen Cathedral (Vor Frue Kirke), near the main shopping street Strøget.
