YouTube has removed Greenpeace's animated video attack on Lego's partnership with the oil company Shell, Politiken reports.

The film showed an Arctic scene made of Lego pieces that slowly becomes submerged in thick black oil, leaving only a flag with the Shell logo visible above the sea and the tagline: “Shell is polluting our children’s imaginations”.

According to Greenpiece itself, it was Warner Bros, the production company behind 'The Lego Movie', that complained and got the video pulled.

Nearly got 3 million views
"The video was removed last night, just before reaching three million hits. We don't know why they complained," Birgitte Lesanner, the campaign manager at Greenpiece Denmark, told Politiken.

"It's strange, for satire is generally widely accepted on YouTube. We guess the video just got too popular."

It's still possible to watch the video on other sites, including Greenpeace's website and Vimeo.

Neither YouTube nor Warner Bros has commented on why the animation was pulled.
