Hauntingly good! Dragsholm Slot ranked second best foodie hotel in the world
Bon Appetit blown away by "food [that] is as dramatic as the setting"
The US food magazine Bon Appetit has revealed its list of the best hotels to stay and eat in the world, ranking the 13th century Danish castle Dragsholm Slot at number two.
The magazine, which told its readers that the food at the haunted castle “is as dramatic as the setting” thanks to former Noma sous-chef Klaus Henrikson, placed the hotel just behind Belcampo Hotel in Belize on its Best Food Lover’s Hotels 2014 list.
Whilst the food at the castle is traditional and rustic, Bon Appetit noted that the “creative exploration of local and house made ingredients” was a delight.
Its favourite meal was breakfast – plates full of meat, cheese and rolls and accompanied by fresh pressed apple juice from the orchards.
