UPDATE: 04/08/2014 16:05 - A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in the strangling death of 77-year-old Else Johannesen, according to a police statement. Police had asked the public for help and had received a number of tips. The woman’s purse was also missing from her apartment. Original report:

An in-home assistant found a 77-year-old woman dead in her Lemvig apartment on Saturday. Police said that they considered the death of Else Johannesen suspicious from the start. They ordered an autopsy, which revealed that the woman had been strangled.

Johannesen was last seen alive at around 20:15 on Friday evening and west and mid Jutland police are asking that anyone who may have seen anything unusual near the woman’s Frederik Street apartment come forward.
