West Copenhagen police may have thought they stumbled into an episode of the TV series 'Bones' yesterday evening around 6pm when they found decomposing bodies in a flat in a western suburb of Copenhagen.

Officers were called to an address on Parkvej in Taastrup by a landlord who was tired of not being able to contact the people in one of his flats who had not been paying their rent.

“When we got there, we found the decomposed bodies of a man and a woman that we suspect have been there for a long time,” said homicide boss Charlotte Skovby. An onsite investigation indicated that the bodies may have been in the flat since the end of October or early November.

Skovby said that the condition of the bodies made it hard to determine the cause of death.

“It has been difficult, but so far there is no evidence of an actual crime or bullet or stab wounds,” said Skovby. “It is highly unusual that we find two bodies at the same address.”

Skovby said that police as of yet have found nothing to suggest suicide in the case and that the state of the remains has made it temporarily impossible to identify them.

“It’s a strange case. We hope that the coroner can shed more light on the matter,” she said.
