Police carried out a raid on Jægersborggade in the Nørrebro area yesterday and arrested 29 suspects behind the organised illegal cannabis trade taking place on the street.
Three of those arrested were members of the Hells Angels biker gang, and one a member of AK81, while the rest were producers, guards, dealers and errand boys.
While six were released, police have kept the other 23 suspects in custody.
"We are satisfied with the result of our operation yesterday targeting cannabis pushers on Jægersborggade and their masterminds," police commissioner Steffen Thaaning Steffensen told Politiken newspaper.
Well-known pusher street
Along with its trendy cafés and funky shops, Jægersborggade is one of the main hubs of Copenhagen's cannabis trade, together with freetown Christiania, and for the last six months, the police have frequently patrolled the street to monitor the situation.
Yesterday's catch included 250,000 kroner in cash along with six kilos of cannabis, steroids, viagra pills, weapons, tear gas, pepper spray, two Harley Davidson motorbikes and one Mercedes.
