'Das Deutschlandlied' has never been more deafening!
Sunday saw the World Cup final and the first European winners of the tournament in the Americas. Who else but Germany!
The result was a big hit at the Germany Embassy and the home of Hendrik Zimmer, a member of international football club Copenhagen Celtic.
While Viola, 3, fell asleep during the first half, Vincent, 7, was allowed to stay up well past his bedtime to watch the whole match and savour the winning goal by 'super' Mario Götze.
Zimmer attributed the success to Merete, his Danish wife, who reluctantly agreed to this year don a German shirt for the first time ever: firstly for the semi and then for the final.
