Aug 28: Nazis thwarted

Nazi Germany’s plans to introduce the death penalty for members of the Danish resistance in 1943 were thwarted by the Danish government.

On the same day, a German diplomat warned there were plans to deport the Danish Jews, prompting a nationwide effort to move them to Sweden.
