Danish flags will be going up on the buses on Sunday to honour all of the soldiers who have been deployed on international missions on behalf of Denmark since 1948.

An official ceremony will take place on Friday with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Monument of Denmark’s International Efforts in the preserved fortress Kastellet in Copenhagen.

It will include a parade involving soldiers from the army, national guard, police, emergency response forces and veterans from international missions.
