June 8: Whitsun
Whitsun (also Pentecost), which falls on the seventh Sunday after Easter, is a holiday that commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon Christ’s disciples.

Traditions include exiting one’s house and sweeping towards the door, which was thought to collect happiness for the rest of the year.

The Whitsun lunch usually involves fish and special beer.

The following day, Whit Monday, is a bank holiday in Denmark.
