Ticket sales for the Roskilde Festival have reached historic proportions as music lovers have flocked in droves to see bands like the Rolling Stones, Stevie Wonder and Outcast perform at this year’s event.

The festival organisers have announced that they have sold all of their 80,000 full-week tickets, although there are still some one-day passes available for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

“We need to go back almost 20 years to find a year where so many tickets have been sold so quickly,” Christina Bilde, a spokesperson for Roskilde Festival, said in a press release.

“That means that we are already looking at generating some solid profits that we will donate to charity and humanitarian aims.”

'The Stones' kicked it off
Bilde went on to say that ticket sales for the festival – lasting from June 29 to July 6 – really took off once the Rolling Stones and the entire program were announced in April.

One-day tickets for Thursday, July 3 – the day The Rolling Stones and Outcast perform – have also completely sold out.

One-day tickets for Friday, Saturday and Sunday – days that feature bands like Stevie Wonder, Arctic Monkey, Mogwai, Deftones, Rob Zombie, Manu Chao and Drake – are still up for grabs for 970 kroner a piece.
