Christmas is soon upon us and with that merry holiday comes the not-so-merry business of buying presents. Granted, some presents are more difficult to buy than others, but you should have no problems after reading this. Here we’ve identified the perfect presents for four groups of people who are generally hard to please. You’re welcome.

The person who has everything
Everyone knows at least one of these people, and it’s a nightmare trying to find something that would suit one of their homes, so don’t. Rather, go to Østerlandsk Thehus and buy a gift that’s sure to stand out. There’s a dizzying variety of teas – black, green, white, you name it – that come in prettily coloured tin cans. There’s also a world of coffee beans and chocolates on offer.

Østerlands Thehus, Nørrevoldgade 9, Cph K; open Mon-Fri 10:00-18:00, Sat 10:00-14:00; 3313 1000

That person you’re not sure you’re exchanging presents with
Maybe you just met recently; maybe it’s a colleague you’ve been out for coffee with; or maybe it’s your crush you just started seeing. You want to give them something, but you’re not sure if it’s appropriate, so you want to get a little something, but nothing cheap. Solution? Summerbird chocolatier. You’ll find the most wonderful chocolates - from white to extra dark - chocolate coated almonds, flødeboller and much, much more.

Summerbird, locations include Ny Østergade 9, Cph K; open Mon-Fri 10:00-18:00, Sat 10:00-16:00; 3313 1902

The couple who just had a baby
Let’s face it, they’ve been give the gift of new life, so what else is there to give? Such is their contentment (and confusion, some might say) that they tend to be happier if you just buy something for the little one! Buy them some Billedleg toys – beautiful, handmade wooden toys designed by artist Lars Jensen. All the toys are made of Scandinavian wood and painted with brightly coloured non-toxic paint.

Billedleg toys, available at Dansk Håndværk, Kompagniestræde 20, Cph K; open Tue-Thu 11:00-17:30, Fri: 11:00-18:30, Sat 11:00-15:00; 3311 4552

Your in-laws
It doesn’t matter how great – or not-so-great – your in-laws are, buying them a present is always difficult. But it doesn’t have to be. Head on down to Georg Jensen and buy some beautiful, timeless design – there’s everything from jewellery to tea services. Its annual Christmas mobile is a classic that makes a wonderful present for anyone. This year’s is a brass angel covered in 24-carat gold and little star etchings by designer Malene Birger.

Georg Jensen, Amagertorv 4, Cph K; open every day until Christmas 10:00-19:00; 3311 4080
