Students held beer tournaments on stranded S-train
100 people got stuck on a S-train last night, but some of them killed time with drinking games
An S-train crossed its own contact wire last night and got stuck between Klampenborg and Hellerup for two hours with more than 100 passengers on board, who couldn't leave the train because of the electricity risk, Politiken reports.
Not all were in a hurry
Most of the passengers were partying white-capped students who had just passed their university entrance exams, Studentereksamen, and they knew just how to kill time in the train wagons.
While the other passengers went to sleep at one end, the students played beer tournaments and sang songs in the other part of the train, while using a dark corner as an improvised bathroom compartment – and litter bags as emergency toilets.
"We're in no distress," a passenger told Politiken. "The most important thing is that people are calm."
All the passengers were safely evacuated and transported to the Copenhagen Central Station, where the party presumably continued into the night.
