Hipsters have taken over the world from their New York cradle, and not many places on earth are more ironic than Copenhagen's very own Vesterbro neighbourhood.

Thrilllist.com has listed the top 10 hipster neighbourhoods on earth, and while Williamsburg in New York tops the list, Vesterbro comes in – after Amsterdam-Noord and Florentin in Tel Aviv – at number 4.

Beacon of trendiness
The website describes Copenhagen's red light district as the "beacon of trendiness in an already hip town."

"We've  already established that Copenhagen's one of the world's most bike-friendly cities, and if there's one thing that hipsters love, it's bicycles. That, and Fjällräven backpacks."

Nørrebro, you probably haven't heard of it
Now, trendy Vesterbro has long battled against gritty Nørrebro to win the hipsters over to their side.

Earlier this year, Skyscanner ranked Nørrebro ninth among the coolest hipster neighbourhoods in the world.
