A 37-year-old female employee at Ringbo, a psychiatric group home in Bagsvaerd, was stabbed to death earlier this morning.

A 72-year-old male resident has admitted to the killing and is in police custody. Other residents and employees at Ringbo said that the man had not been violent in the past.

Police were notified of the crime at around 8am this morning and the woman was pronounced dead about a half hour later.

“Unfortunately I can confirm that it is true,” Ringbo's head, Jørgen Marthedal, told TV2 News.

The suspect is scheduled for a hearing at 2pm this afternoon.

In 2008, a 57-year-old resident was found dead in his room at Ringbo. An autopsy confirmed that the man had been murdered, but the crime was never solved. Ringbo has also been investigated for overly medicating and sedating its residents.
