Tivoli, the second oldest amusement park in the world after Bakken, was opened on this day in 1843 by founder Georg Carstensen. The gardens were considered so beautiful that over a century later, Walt Disney creates his own Tivoli-inspired park. Tivoli is the second most popular seasonal theme park in the world.
