It is unbelievable to think that Dolly Parton has been around since the 1960s, flying the flag high for country music.

Born and bred to be a performer, Parton made her initial forays into the world of music at an early age and has since gone on to rake in one accolade after another for her timeless contributions to songwriting: from ‘Jolene’ and ‘9 to 5’ to ‘I Will Always Love You’.

For me, Christmas was never the same without the sounds of Dolly Parton on a certain cassette tape my parents bought when I was nine years old.
