Don’t stay still this week, instead take a dip in the cultural pool at your feet, whether it’s theatre, cabaret nights or exhibitions.

Much Ado About Nothing

In the open-air and summer shade of Rosenborg castle, the American Drama Group in Europe introduce non-native speakers to the depth of English theatre. Set in Sicily and revered as Shakespeare’s greatest romantic comedy, the play follows the lives of two, very different pairs of lovers. And then after the performance, if you have a hand-holding partner, wander the walkways of the King’s Gardens to discover the rose garden and the numerous sculptures that pepper the grounds.

Rosenborg castle, Kronprinsessegade 1, Cph K; Thu 18:00; tickets: 217k, concessions 102kr

Fattisch

Described as an underground cabaret with a glitter in its eye, this event features artistry, songs, monologues, magic and hypnosis. The company advertise the show as serving ‘dry bread’ and ‘sour wine’.

Bådteatret, Nyhavn 16Z, Cph K; ends 1 Sep, performances Mon-Fri 20:00, Sat 17:00, Tickets: adults 120kr, children 60kr, www.teaterbilletter.dk

If I Can’t Dance …

Attend exhibitions and seminars in English at events run by Dutch outfit If I Can’t Dance, I Don’t Want To Be Part Of Your Revolution. Explore journals published during the Great Depression, and learn about how historical and social conditions affect a publication’s production.
