Spring is not just round the corner.
While a freezing blizzard has just swept past the eastern coast of the US, dropping nearly a metre of snow in some areas, Danes can expect snow showers and below-zero temperatures in the coming days.
According to the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI), the weather will be cloudy and windy as temperatures drop down to minus 5 degrees during the nights.
Ice on roads
In some areas of Jutland, temperatures will drop down to minus 10 degrees.
During the day, temperatures will rise above zero and linger between 2 and 4 degrees in most places.
However, DMI warns that icy patches on the roads will form in the mornings.
Moderate wind speeds
The wind will be weak to moderate, blowing from the west and northwest, reaching a maximum of 11 m/s on Monday.
Some southern parts of Denmark are already covered by a layer of snow and further snow showers are reported to hit southern Funen, Langeland, southern Zealand, Lolland, Falster and Møn.
According to DMI, the cold weather may last longer than next week but will mostly affect eastern Jutland.
