UPDATE: 18/08/2014 – 15:30 – Police have arrested and charged an 18-year-old man from Lolland believed to be behind the bomb threats sent to Lalandia this weekend

The Lalandia holiday centre in Rødby on the southern Danish island of Lolland has been hit by two bomb threats in two days, and the perpetrators remain at large.

The centre opened on Sunday after being forced to close early on both Friday and Saturday after it received bomb threats.

Anonymous letters were delivered both days saying that there was a bomb hidden in Lalandia.

On both days, the police were summoned and the visitors led out of the centre back to their holiday homes.

“It’s hard to understand and most likely a bad joke, but we have to take it seriously,” Lalandia head Jan Harrit told Jyllands-Posten.

Even though the centre has video surveillance, police havebeen unable to identify who is making the threats.

On guard
“Police are looking at the footage from Friday and Saturday to see if they can identify the person,” said Harrit.

Harrit is co-operating with the police to form a strategy in case there are more threats.

“I hope it doesn’t happen again, but we are ready if someone tries."
