Dismiss the USA at your peril. Well, okay, you can, particularly now they’ve got rid of Landon Donovan, but they still have a record most teams would be proud of. 

However, a closer look at their record reveals at the last six World Cups reveals: no wins, last 16, no wins, quarter-finals, no wins, last 16. So put your money on the trend continuing in a tough group alongside Portugal, Germany and Ghana. 

“The good thing about being a Danish-American is if the Danes don’t make it, I’ve always got Old Glory to lean on,” says head journalist Christian Wenande (left), who has family in Wyoming, hence the tribute to 'Brokeback Mountain'.

“The US make it every time thanks to their easy qualification route. Forever underdogs at the World Cup, I love it when the US surprise teams with their ability to always give it their all and do so while playing as a team. Let’s ruffle some feathers boys. USA! USA!”

As part of our World Cup coverage this year, our international staff decided it would be fun to dress up in our national shirts for the Copenhagen Post Wallchart, which hit the streets on June 12.
