Every two years, the Copenhagen-based international school Institute Sankt Joseph organises a special theme week, switching pupils’ attention from the normal curriculum to other important things in life.
This year, the school’s goal is to teach pupils about the importance of taking responsibility for other people in the world in a project called ‘10 days of giving’.
The aim is also to show the pupils what it is like to experience the joy of giving.
From September 30 to October 8, the pupils will be asked, among other things, to donate clothes, shoes and other useful items as well as money for a charity project.
In 2013, the school collected more than 100,000 kroner for its project ‘Be the change’, which helped build a school for nomadic children in Niger.
Before the autumn holiday break, all children will meet at Kastellet to participate in a running competition to round off the ten days in an active way.
