National football team veteran Martin Jørgensen believes coach Morten Olsen’s contract renewal boosts World Cup chances
National football team head coach Morten Olsen has had his contract extended by two years, reports Politiken newspaper.
And veteran attacking midfielder Martin Jørgensen is convinced that has improved the national side’s chance at the World Cup in South Africa this year.
Jørgensen said the news had a calming effect on the squad and he was happy Olsen would continue after the World Cup.He added that a potential successor to Olsen was difficult to spot.
Olsen’s contract extension means he will be in charge during the European Championship in being played in Poland and Ukraine in 2012. He has been coach since 2000.
