Third sister dead after farm accident

Youngest of three daughters trapped under hale bale on family farm on Thursday has also succumbed to her injuries

The third of the three sisters who became trapped under a 400 kilogram hay bale on Thursday has been declared dead by doctors at Aarhus University Hospital.

The girl's nine-year-old sister died while being transported to the hospital from the family horse farm in the village of Hee, near Ringkøbing, while a 13-year-old sister died in hospital on Friday.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into what caused the hay bale to fall on the girls.

Investigators say they they also hope an autopsy on Monday will help determine how long the girls were trapped under the bale and whether the precise cause of death was injuries sustained by the falling bale or suffocation.
