The Copenhagen Theatre Circle invites you to enjoy a carefree evening listening to the childhood stories of people from all over the world. This group of eleven storytellers will be reminiscing about their youths in the form of 10-15 minute stories. Ranging from Russia to Sweden to Canada, this mixed goodie bag of diversity is sure to spark some of your own long forgotten childhood memories. MN

Described by organisers Livingstones Kabinet as “a beautiful, deranged and absurd celebration”, Forsamlingen is an energetic fusion of dance and live music of the somewhat holy kind. Featuring a talented choir of eight performing traditional American ‘Shape Note’ singing and original ‘sound poetry’, the experimental performance promises to inspire and dig into the subconscious. Join the congregation and rejoice, as this invigorating performance comes to the stage with a dash of humour. LP

Wiener Johann Strauss: gala-concert

This large musical feast is guaranteed not to leave anyone indifferent. A joint effort by the Austrian K&K Philharmonic orchestra and ballet troupe, this is a real treat for all real connoisseurs of the Viennese musical tradition. World-famous waltzes, polkas and overtures, created by several generations of the talented Strauss family, are going to be presented to Copenhageners. RS

It is widely accepted today that posters are more than just an entertainment merchandise product.  Beginning as an important item of artistic self-expression that first gained momentum in the turbulent 60s, it continues being a powerful political and artistic tool even today, proclaiming statements loudly and clearly. Gallery owner Susanne Ottesen, along with the artist Bjørn Nørgaard and the assistant professor at the University of Copenhagen, Line Hjorth Christensen, are going tell the story of modern poster art and to reveal personal opinions on this genre. The prize-winning exhibition When one Thing Moves, Everything Moves by Danish conceptual artist Joachim Koester was the most extensive display of his works ever held on his home turf. After touring Europe and receiving international acclaim, the exhibition has spawned an extensive catalogue book which will be presented at this special release celebration event. You will get a chance to meet the renowned artist and even ask him a few questions, if you’re lucky. RS

 

Attention all theatre lovers! Copenhagen Theatre Circle wants actors for its production of the American modern drama classic ‘The Dining Room’ by AR Gurney, which is going to run from 30 April to 10 May at Krudttøndedn theatre in Østerbro. Audition in front of director Jeremy Thomas-Poulsen, who is keen to stage a daring and provocative interpretation of the classic play. No prepared monologues are required! RS
