Aalborg increasing safety at port

Two motorists have recently driven straight into the harbour

The city of Aalborg is examining ways to make its waterfront a safer place.

In two separate incidents, of which one ended in a fatality, motorists driving on the docks in Aalborg have ended up in the Limfjord. Police and emergency workers are now recommending that an inlet in the docks be blocked.

One of the suggestion has been that an illuminated bench be placed in front of the spot. 

City not liable
Aalborg municipality has not yet agreed to that solution, but says it is considering several proposals to improve safety along the waterfront. 

The municipality said that safety measures should be decided on next month and be in place before the summer.

The court recently ruled that the city of Aalborg was not liable in the death of the motorist that drove off the dock.
